Hi, I'm Colin.
Before SaltationAI, I made documentary films, publications, exhibitions, and artist-scientist collaborations with universities and water treatment facilities. The work usually started the same way: learn a complicated system from the people inside it, then build something together.
When generative AI arrived, I recognized another way to think and make things in conversation. I spent time learning what these tools could actually do, where they failed, and how people without technical backgrounds could use them well.
That became SaltationAI. I work with small teams that know their field and have more important work than time. We look closely at how the work moves, find where AI can extend the team's reach, and build around the expertise already in the room.
How I work
I listen before I prescribe. The people doing the work know what correctness means, which exceptions matter, and what should remain in human hands. My job is to turn that knowledge into a working system the team can inspect, use, and improve.
Sometimes that takes one focused session. Sometimes it takes a month of building. For larger challenges, I can stay involved as an ongoing AI partner. The relationship can continue without the work becoming a black box or the team losing ownership.
Why there is a lab
The lab gives me room to work on questions that do not have a settled answer yet: how AI can carry expert judgment, how its work can be checked, and where human responsibility cannot be handed off. What holds up there becomes part of how I work with clients.
